What we actually do
The WPI Investing Association is a student-led organization focused on equity research, portfolio management, and financial literacy. We operate with institutional-grade governance: sector analysts, fund managers, faculty oversight, and a structured investment committee.
Members develop professional-level skills in financial modeling, valuation, risk analysis, and portfolio construction. Our work is reviewed by five faculty advisors with decades of experience across Wall Street, asset management, and academia.
No prior experience required. Whether you're a freshman exploring finance for the first time or a senior refining your investment thesis, there's a place for you here.

From 4 members to real money
Foundation
4 students, no budget, a lot of opinions about the stock market. That's how it started. Mock pitches, paper trading, and an idea that this could be something real.
Rapid Growth
Word got around. 4 became 40, then 300+. Mock trading competitions, Wall Street networking nights, and a growing reputation on campus.
FinTech Expansion
WPI is a STEM school, so we leaned into it. Machine learning engineers joined the exec board. Students started building actual tools the club used.
Building the Fund
On track to manage real endowment capital by Q2 2026. The governance structure, faculty oversight, and investment framework are in place and now it's about proving the track record. The initial $300,000 investment, approved by the Board of Trustees, is targeted to reach $1,000,000 by Q1 2027.
